Fast Food Baby

We stopped at a McDonald's for a bite to eat on our way home to Louisville from Thanksgiving in Spotsylvania, VA (near D.C.). Eowyn's already a fast-food connoisseur... but fortunately for her this is the closest she'll get to fast food for quite a long time.

This was taken earlier in the day. We went to eat at Bob Evan's with the Watts after church, and Eowyn was so cute that we had to take a picture.

Napping

Eowyn didn't want to miss a moment of the action, even while asleep, so she just conked out on the couch next to Callie (the beagle).

S-T-R-E-T-C-H

She was sleeping with her head waaay back, then decided to stretch some more.
I must confess; I did not get this shot; Daddy did. But isn't it cute all the same?

Attempt to Pacify

My Tia Virginia (my mom's sister) trying to get Eowyn to stop crying by interesting her in bright colorful things at IKEA...

Ummm... So I realized this is the only picture of Eowyn I have from today that's not blurry. Apparently my cousin Sofie touched the lens and I didn't realize it until too late... now our favorite subject is happily asleep and in her PJs. Oh well.

And I love this face!!!

Drivin' Through the Mountains

At a random gas station in West Virginia-- Eowyn's first roadtrip... she wasn't a fan

Family Night

Here's Eowyn happily ready to sit with us as we watch NCIS Los Angeles (watch last week's episode free online at cbs.com!) & I fold laundry. She is feeling much better, though she still isn't 100% yet. She fits perfectly in the crook of my leg... She's starting to coo and it's fun to "talk" back to her.

Baths Make Everything Better

Here she looks like me as a baby (Nina, do you agree?)

And here, she looks like Ryan! (what do you think, Nana?) How is that possible?

See how little she still is in that tub? =D

Bath Gnome!
Such a sweetie, even sick!
I gave Eowyn a bath early in the afternoon, knowing that it would help with her fever, and probably relax her since she likes the water. I also forgot that baths tend to make her go to sleep and sleep hard, which was an added bonus as she needs sleep to heal. Well, it was such a success that I decided to do a repeat this evening. I took pictures that time since she looks almost well. Note the increased rollage and pudge factor! She's soooo preciously squeezable!

Halo-Baby

Our poor sick sweetie, after she had blood drawn from her scalp-vein. They went ahead and left the needle in as a saline lock in case she needed IV meds or fluid, so she looked like a small cherub with a halo... or maybe an alien with a head-tube. So pitiful.

Flying Home

Our seasoned little traveler :)

She did pretty well! Cried on all 4 landings and 2 takeoffs but was very peaceful & smiley during the flights. On one flight I got her to suck her paci so her ears didn't pop, and another I took my knuckle out of her mouth thinking the ear poppage would be done... and it wasn't. She started crying the minute I took it out. Oops. She charmed everyone, though. One lady did a double-take, saying she thought she was a doll at first!! And I did NOT put that ticket in her mouth. She did that spontaneously as I took the picture, lol. She seemed to love the airports; her little eyes were huge and she was silent as I power-walked through them; she just looked out at all those people and lights from her little carrier. My precious papoose. :)

Eowyn's First Hike

Éowyn, Noah, Hannah & I in the Rouge River Gorge. Éowyn was quite warm in her hat, jacket, tights & Ergo carrier. She kept me warm, too!
As you can see, all 4 of us (Chris, too) went straight from lunch in our church clothes, with walking shoes. :)

Two-Faced

At times pensive, other times plaintive, we saw both sides of our princess today on our day trip to Woodstock.

On the Way

Eowyn was so alert and happy on the way to meet our friends the Shipleys at everyone's favorite store: IKEA!! (Really... even Hannah loves it) I love that I finally caught her "Now that is thought-worthy!" look on camera. She's so cute. :)

In the Christmas Spirit

I made the babies matching headbands and picked up matching t-shirts in the holiday spirit. They were so cute all day, but we didn't get pictures until almost bedtime, after the light was all gone and smiles were harder to conjure up! They're still cute... thankfully Abby smiles at everyone so sweetly!

Smiling at Noah & Hannah

Something about other kids... as soon as Hannah came over & started talking to her, Eowyn lit up! Same with Noah... and he really is into her... future husband?

Chillin' in the Swing

She didn't like her swing at first, but I figured out that it could un-recline, and then she loved it! She is likewise enjoying Abby's... especially because she can still watch us all as she chills in it. She's a very hungry munchkin today!! ...not so much into napping, so I'm hoping the swing with its upright position will do the trick right now!

Doomed to Be Friends

It's so fun that Val & I have daughters 5 months apart! We set them on the floor head-to-head and explained to them today that they don't have a choice about being friends. It's also funny to see how much bigger Abigail is than Eowyn; in a few years, 5 months won't matter at all, but right now it's quite significant! Abby kept wanting to eat Eowyn, which was funny (to us) but she's so good-natured that she didn't mind being thwarted! She finally caught Enna's eye, and that was really cute to have them both looking at each other. I wonder what wheels were turning in their little minds!

Ok, ok, I'll eat this spoon instead of you.

Their first fist-bump (note the size difference in hands/fingers)

In a Goldfish Bowl

After a day of traveling, we arrived in Toronto (Canada) and began to enjoy our Canadian "family," the Powells. Eowyn really liked the fish on Abby's bouncy seat! She remained entertained for most of dinner!

Upcoming...and they're Here!

So... Saturday & Sunday, our computer was in use at the times I wanted/would have been able to upload pictures... now I'm hundreds of miles away, and the pictures are on that computer hard drive... so pics for those two days will have to wait. But I WILL post them!! :)

Talkin' to Daddy

Watch out, it's the LIP! (but it was just a threat; she didn't cry)

While this looks far from comfortable, she fell asleep like this! Rather than disturb her, I let her be... and she didn't seem to mind at all. I guess she could see the mobile better...
