Family Walk in the Park

The sun is out, though it definitely still feels like spring, not summer. Ryan, Eowyn & I had family time walking around the park tonight.

Today Eowyn enjoyed her first veggie-- no, actually fruit: avocado. It's hard to get a good picture of her eating, since she's usually in motion! She seemed to like it. We'll see how her little body tolerates this new food...

Eowyn is growing up so fast! She rolls around, gets up on all fours and lunges, managing to advance by inches to get coveted toys. She's able to sit up on her own for a while, before toppling over.

Amazing Day for a Walk

We loaded up the stroller, and off we went! I couldn't catch Eowyn's newest habit on film-- scrunching up her face like she's mad, for no apparent reason than that it feels interesting!

A Favorite Toy?

She LOVES water bottles! She'll play with them, try to suck every inch of them, and just roll them around in total contentment. We're also working on drinking from a cup! (EDIT: Today, the 23rd, she drank from a glass and most of it made it IN her mouth!)

Children's Sunday School

Eowyn usually comes with us to Children's Sunday School after napping in nursery during the early service. Here she is with Mr. Charlie, one of our fellow teachers. Thanks, Tia Anna for the adorable outfit!

More Grandparent Fun!

GB & Nina visited Mommy's Pre-K class today (GB's first time!). It was pretty enough to have a picnic outside for lunch! The kids tried to teach "Mr. Bart" a song or two, but he kept getting the words wrong. Then he showed them a clip of "Mrs. Szrama" from back when she was a little girl, and her name was "Christina T." THAT was funny! (The kids also tied Mr Bart's legs up with jumpropes and then couldn't undo them, but that's another story... we definitely discussed how we NEVER tie up our friends)

Eowyn was trying to grab at my dad's little remote-controlled helicopter as he flew it around our living room. So cute!

Oh, the Tongue

She has found hers, and is sticking it out every chance she gets. She also has begun an incredibly adorable habit of pulling in her bottom lip... makes her already huge cheeks look even rounder and more kissable!

Miss Mint

Eowyn's buddes Eleanor & Noah celebrated their first birthdays with a Candyland themed birthday party. Guests were invited to come dressed as their parents' favorite candies. We couldn't figure out how to do a peanut m&m or resee's peanut-butter cup costume without some serious work, so Eowyn went as "Miss Mint" (inspired by Candyland's Mr. Mint character). She was soooo stinkin' cute! We didn't get any pictures AT the party because our camera was dead (bad Mommy!), but we're hopeful that our friends with cameras will upload their pics to fb and we can get them that way! She had red & white sneakers on, and I got the bow to be perfectly on her head. She smiled and chewed on her fingers or grabbed her toes the whole party.

In other news, today she really has been into her tongue-- sticking it out a lot, waggling it, smiling with it poking out. Super cute, let me tell you. AND even more exciting, I got her to laugh!! 'Til now it's been at most a solitary chuckle. Today it was gurgling giggles! It started with me ticking her while on the phone-- I guess she wanted to prove to Aunt Val that she can laugh as good as Abby or something. Then later she was cracking herself up in her swing while I was eating dinner. I tried turning away and then whipping back to face her while saying "Boo!," which resulted in bursts of gurgles, consistent enough that I called Daddy down to hear them! I can't wait to have her laughing regularly!!!

I just held her to me today and was overwhelmed with gratitude for how precious she is.

She's reaching, grabbing, pulling, tasting and inching forward these days. She gets up on her knees and rocks, too, and "dances" when she's standing holding our fingers.

First Trip to the Zoo

We went to the zoo with friends from church: Ruth, Tay (5), Myli (3) & Will (2), Anna & Molly-in-utero. It was a gorgeous day, and Eowyn loved being out in the air with so many fun things to look at (and eat)! She especially loved Tay, giving him the biggest smiles every time he came to talk to her.
