10 Months Old

In commemoration of our family trip to Mexido, Eowyn is wearing her Mexican dress, and playing with her new maracas (a favorite).  Notice her skills of standing, laughing, spitting, shaking maracas/dancing, and generally being adorable.  She spits when she gets frustrated, as seen below.

The Ultimate Pit

An avocado pit, of course! Eowyn begged to play with it after eating her avocado, so I washed it off and gave it to her. She immediately found a new life ambition: to stick it ENTIRELY into her mouth.

Slugs, Bugs, & Andrew Peterson

She's a fan.

She went right into his arms, which is an honor withheld from most strangers, especially of the male variety. My hunch is that she recognised his voice. She's holding her newest CD, the record Slugs, Bugs & Lullabies, now autographed by both AP & Randall Goodgame.

It was a very hot day, so as we do fairly often, E & I headed to the Shelby Park Sprayground to cool off. She LOVED it, and all the other kids there were SO sweet with her!

Clothespin

I was trying to get a shot of her helping me fold laundry (aka make a mess with all the clothes), but my camera died and this is all I got... At least you can see two of her great loves: "blandito" (her blanket) and clothespins.

My friend's daughters (aged 22 mos and 7 mos) came over this morning, and Eowyn was so thrilled to wake up and find friends in the house! She's old enough to actually play with other kids, and that is really fun to watch.

Newly-wed Book Study Reunion

3 years ago, five couples were all newly-wedded and childless. We met with a more experienced couple every other week (I think?) to talk about marriage and read-- well, it was a book, but then our group decided to be overachievers and make up our own curriculum, so then it was articles and book chapters-- and discuss. I think the best part was meeting other couples and having a safe place to talk through what we were all going through. Fast forward three years, and now there are 7 children between us, plus our group leaders are pregant with their 5th!! That's a lotta babies, folks! We had a little reunion tonight, but unfortunately our group leaders & kids were down with the flu, so we'll have to do it again when they are well. We've missed you guys!
